AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as an attacking player. She is also captain of the San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest level of women's professional soccer. From 2018 until 2020, she was a co-captain of America's women's national soccer squad alongside Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Shortly after graduating earlier from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was drafted number one overall during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her professional debut and played in the team's win of the league title. Morgan, who was 22 at the time was the youngest player on the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. At the 2012 London Olympics she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final clash against Canada. She was second in the United States to have 20 goals and 21 assists for the year 2012, making her the sixth and youngest athlete in the nation to achieve 20 goals in one year. The following year, she was named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan contributed to helping the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
